Members of the Seneca Nation commemorated the 170th anniversary of the signing of the Buffalo Creek Treaty May 18. The Burchfield Nature & Art Center is located on former Buffalo Creek Territory. The event memorializes the agreement to respect and acknowledge the sovereign lands of the Seneca and ensure federal treaty-protected rights. The Native Roots Artists Guild Art Exhibit corresponded with the event.
